What was your first job and what did it teach you? 

I cleared tables at an Eaton’s cafeteria in Winnipeg. I had to wear an ugly blue dress with a crisp white hat and apron. It taught me to avoid any job with a uniform. 

What’s the most memorable trip or place you’ve ever visited? 

I’ve been fortunate to have travelled to many places around the world but my first trip (at the age of 19) to Hawaii, Fiji and New Zealand was pretty spectacular. I got to ride on the Seaspray ship off the Fijian coastal waters. “The Seaspray” was the ship on an Australian TV show we watched as kids.
