In honor of National Bad Poetry Day on August 18, and the Minnesota State Fair, check out some not-so-award-winning poetry from the Neka Creative team.
Cheese curds and cookies, no matter the weather
See you soon at the “Great Minnesota Get-Together”
-Kelly
People will gather
With full bellies and sore feet
It happens each year
-Sandy
On the first day of the state fair my true love gave to me,
A pail of Sweet Martha’s cookies
On the second day of the state fair my true love gave to me
two slabs of bacon
And a pail of Sweet Martha’s cookies
On the third day of the state fair my true love gave to me
a warning to watch my calories
-Nina
10,000+ steps.
10,000+ calories.
10,000+ interesting people.
One very tired Minnesotan.
-Sarah
I came for corn dogs,
stayed for the view.
Mullets and sequins,
and my crop top debut.
-Justin
Butterheads stare
Meat on sticks everywhere
Martha’s cookies challenge my waistline
So many people, I want to hide in my bucket of fries
-Rosemary
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I’d go to the Minnesota State Fair if I were you
-Sheri
I don’t write. I’ll do the graphic for social.
